Using mParivahan to Access your RC

Launched in 2017, the mParivahan mobile application was an initiative by the Government of India to empower users. No longer were they bound to the limitations of physical copies. Now, services related to Registration Certificates, Driving Licences, Challans, and even the option to download RC online are available right at their fingertips. And the best part? Steps to Access:
- Download: Begin by downloading the NextGen mParivahan application for Android or NextGen mParivahan for iOS.
- Sign-Up: Use your registered mobile number and OTP to complete the sign-up process.
- Navigation: On the home screen, select the “My Virtual RC” option.
- Details: Key in the Vehicle Number, Chassis Number (Last 5 digits), and Engine Number (Last 5 digits), and click on “Add My Vehicle”.
- Voila! Your RC details are now saved on your dashboard and can be accessed whenever you fancy.
Using DigiLocker to Access your RC

It’s like a digital wallet, but instead of cash, it securely stores your pivotal documents such as Aadhaar, PAN, RC, DL, and much more. And guess what? The documents in the DigiLocker system are as legit as the originals, thanks to Section 9A of the IT Rules, 2016.
Pre-requisites:
- Registered Mobile Number for DigiLocker app sign-up.
- Your Vehicle No. and full Chassis No.
How to Go About It:
- Get the App: Start by downloading DigiLocker for Android or DigiLocker for iOS.
- Log In: Either sign up or simply log into your existing DigiLocker account.
- Search: Click on the “Search” icon, type in “RC”, and select “Registration of Vehicles” from the results. Alternatively, navigate to Transport >> Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and pick “Registration of Vehicles”.
- Input Info: Your name (from Aadhaar) will prefill. Just enter your Car Registration No. and the Complete Chassis No. (all 17 characters). Hit “Get Document”.
- Done and Dusted: Your RC now displays on the screen. Access it anytime from the “Issued Documents” section.
